Betye Saar's new watercolor works on paper are portraits of the artist's personal collection of Black dolls, including 1880s European brown bisque dolls, dolls handmade with found materials by enslaved people, Mattel’s 1968 first Black Barbie (Christie), and Addie of the American Girl Dolls.
