Yve-Alain Bois is Professor of Art History emeritus at the School of Historical Studies at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton University and an editor of the journal October. He is currently at work on the third volume of a catalogue raisonné of Ellsworth Kelly’s paintings and sculpture.

Jason Smith is an Associate Professor in the Graduate Art program at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He writes about contemporary art and aesthetics, modern continental philosophy (Spinoza, Hegel, 20th century), and contemporary politics and political economy.
