Give Good Art at Hammer Museum from Fri, Nov 1, 2013 to Sun, Nov 24, 2013

Give Good Art is a gallery of gifts and limited edition art objects presented by ForYourArt in a variety of contexts. The first Give Good Art was installed from November 1–24, 2013 as part of the Hammer Museum’s Arts ReSTORE LA: Westwood urban renewal project, an initiative of the Goldhirsh Foundation’s citywide LA2050 project.

Later iterations were mounted at Parachute Market (March 22–23, 2014) and Paris Photo (April 25–27, 2014), both in Los Angeles. Reflecting ForYourArt’s spirit of patronage, the curation of goods signals the constantly evolving relationship between commerce and art, and the role of commerce as an access point to art and a vehicle to support it.

Give Good Art has featured exclusive ForYourArt collaborations with Barbara Kruger, Matt Merkel Hess, Freeway Eyewear, Otherwild Goods & Services, and Lisa Sitko. Other art on offer has included editions benefitting national arts organizations such as Art Production Fund, Hammer Museum, LACMA, LAXART, and Santa Monica Museum of Art. Give Good Art has also been stocked with gift ideas selected from ForYourArt’s favorite local sources.

For the project, ForYourArt produced a website, postcard and printed catalog.
