This experimental project by the Iraqi-born, Los Angeles-based artist takes media images from violence and corporeal forms that emerge from these moments into painting. Attar also stages a performance developed with musicians Sandra Lawson-Ndu and Sheila Govindarajan, inspired by the mourning rituals of Iraqi Shi’a women.
