Founded in 1979, Christopher Grimes Gallery presents a diverse program of contemporary art in a variety of media including painting, photography, installation, sculpture and video. It has curated and traveled projects such as “Amnesia: Contemporary Art from South America” and “Super 8,” an exhibition featuring the works of forty international contemporary artists. The gallery works with emerging and established artists such as Marco Brambilla, Takehito Koganezawa, Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle, Julião Sarmento, Allan Sekula and Tunga.
In the last two years the gallery has held solo exhibitions by Marco Brambilla, Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle, Takehito Koganezawa, Veronika Kellndorfer, Scott Short, Allan Sekula, Anton Henning, Richard T. Walker, Katharina Grosse, Ester Partegas and Waltercio Caldas. The gallery has been involved in the publication of a major monograph, “Veronika Kellndorfer: Case Studies: Layers of Light and Reflection” published by Hatje Kantz (2012).
