CRYCLE.: Organized Chaos!

Opening reception for an exhibition by artist collective CRYCLE. Produced by Fatima Robinson and Rhea Scott, in association with Black Dog Films, Organized Chaos! features an interactive performance art element in addition to other works. On view through December 16, 2012.

Occupy the Mind: Pedagogy, ‘Capitalocentrism’* and the Arts Fantasy

This event features faculty and students from the Roski School of Fine Art joining together to discuss the implications of Occupy, the movement’s relationship and effect on academia and on the multiple artworlds, and the Capitalocentric nature of our economy.  The panel will be followed by a discussion with the audience. This free discussion is presented as the final event in the SOC(i)AL: Art +People series. 

Paradise Lost: A Project by Dennis Rudolph

This event features an exhibition of an ongoing project by Concord artist in residence Dennis Rudolph, who gives a presentation detailing his exploration of California City and his plan to build a gateway there. This event features White Supremacy.

The Artist in Context
Vincent Price Art Museum (Monterey Park)
This free panel discussion considers Carlos Almaraz’s career in critical context of the past and present. The event features moderator Max Benavidez, in addition to Karen Mary Davalos, Patrick Ela, and Suzanne Muchnic. The event is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Carlos Almaraz: A Life Recalled, on view through December 8, 2012.
