Los Angeles Antiques, Art and Design Show Gala

Opening night gala for the 17th annual Los Angeles Antiques, Art and Design Show, which features works by more than 60 artists from around the world. The  four day show honors antiquarian Joel Chen with the 2012 Design Leadership Award and benefits the LACMA Decorative Arts and Design Council. Gala tickets begin at $150 and are available online.

Volume 10 – The Art of Criticism

This panel discussion features Sharon Mizota, Doug Harvey, Aram Moshayedi and moderator Damon Willick discussing art criticism. This free event is presented as part of X-TRA’s 15 Years in 15 Days.

Art Lecture: Pae White
Hammer Museum (Westwood)

This event features a lecture from Los Angeles-based artist Pae White, whose work has been featured internationally at venues including MoMA, the Tate Modern, and LACMA. This free lecture is presented as part of the UCLA Department of Art’s Artist Lecture series.

Threshold
Studio Sereno (El Sereno)
7-9pm
Opening reception of an exhibition featuring four site-specific sound works by artists Richard Chartier, Robert Crouch, Yann Novak and Steve Roden. Each artist was given a recording of the ambient sounds of Studio Sereno and asked to create a work that interacted with the space’s indoor/outdoor qualities. Threshold features a 10 minute work by each artist.
