Donut Schedule & Activities Announced

For Around the Clock: 24 Hour Donut City II, LACMA’s Choice, ForYourArt asked LACMA’s employees to select their favorite donuts in celebration of the 24-hour screening of artist Christian Marclay’s The Clock, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

 

Activities

 

There will be donut drawing throughout the entirety of Around the Clock: 24 Hour Donut City II, LACMA’s Choice.

 

5pm – Saturday, September 22

ForYourArt asked Andrew Berardini and Ed Schad to write essays about Christian Marclay’s The Clock on the occasion of its 24-hour screening at LACMA. Join ForYourArt as they discuss the film.

 

10am – Sunday, September 23

Donut Discussion: A Round Table on L.A.’s Rising Scene
Top Chef Masters judge and LAist Food Editor Krista Simmons hosts a round table discussion with Waylynn Lucas, owner of Fonuts; Janeen Gudelj, owner of The Donut Snob; and Joshua Lurie, food writer and owner of FoodGPS.com.

They’ll talk about donut trends, the history of the donut scene in L.A. that is rooted in the city’s Asian immigrant populations, what makes great dough, donut art and decorating styles, as well as the future of the donut.
