FRIDAY, AUGUST 17

Golden Golden Fundraiser
Human Resources (Chinatown)

This event features screenings of queer experimental films by artists Jess Dobkin, Leeroy Kun Young Kang, Nguyen Tan Hoang, Shawn Tamaribuchi, Chris Vargas, and Greg Youmans. Proceeds from the event benefit a film-in-progress by Erica Cho. Music to be provided by E.Z. and Rey Fukuda. $5 donation at the door.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 19

Sunset Film Screening
The Mandrake (Culver City)
6pm
This fundraising event for Los Angeles Art Resource includes a screening of short films by LA-based artists Brigid McCaffrey, Sarah Rara, Kenneth Tam and Bobbi Woods. Curated by Alee Peoples and Mike Stoltz, the Sunset Film Screening also features a series of limited edition prints by Heimir Bjorgulfsson, Katie Herzog, Kiel Johnson, Olga Koumoundouros, Guthrie Lonergan, and Juliana Paciulli. $10 suggested donation at the door.

MONDAY, AUGUST 20

Show & Tell
Cinefamily (Fairfax)

This screening event, hosted by Joel Hodgson and presented in conjunction with the third annual Everything Is Festival, features artists, filmmakers, and musicians sharing their favorite pieces of film, from commercials to music videos to obscure cinema. All media will be presented live by various guests. Tickets are $14 and available online.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 21

The Artist Theater Program
Hammer Museum (Westwood)
7:30pm
This screening event features works by artists including Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet, Alice Könitz, Paul Sietsema, Adam Putnam, James Welling, and Math Bass. This group show of film and video is presented in conjunction with Made in L.A. 2012. Free tickets are required for entry and are available at the Hammer’s Billy Wilder Theater Box Office.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 22

Zackary Drucker and Her Friends: Films and Conversation
Hammer Museum (Westwood)
7:30pm
Filmmaker Zackary Drucker hosts an evening of film screenings and conversation regarding queer cinema. Featured films include The Queen, Broken Goddess, and At least you know: you exist. Screenings to be followed by a conversation with Drucker and actresses Flawless Sabrina and Holly Woodlawn. This free event is a part of Made in L.A. 2012.
