The Levitt Pavilion’s free summer concert series features an evening  performance by DJ Nosaj Thing, of LA’s Brainfeeder label. Attendees are welcome to bring a picnic to this event.

FRIDAY, JULY 27

PLAY MOCA 
Geffen Contemporary at MOCA (Downtown)

The first of three Play MOCA music and art events features performances by Salem and IO ECHO. Drew Barrymore is the guest artist and LA-based noise rock group Health provide a DJ set. Admission is free. RSVP is required and available online

Nick Waterhouse
Getty Center (Brentwood)

San Francisco-based R&B guitarist Nick Waterhouse plays an evening show at the Getty as part of the museum and KCRW’s Saturdays Off the 405 concert series. This free event also includes refreshments, gallery access, and DJ sets.

Fiona Apple
Hollywood Palladium (Hollywood)

Singer songwriter Fiona Apple plays the Palladium in support of The Idler Wheel…, her first album since 2005. Tickets are $49.50 and available online

JMSN
Bootleg Bar (Echo Park)

R&B musician and producer JMSN plays The Bootleg in support of his debut LP Priscilla. All Eyes West and Broadcaster open. This free show ends with a DJ set by 
Astronautica.

TUESDAY, JULY 31

Tenacious D
The Wiltern (Koreatown)

Comedy rock duo Tenacious D (Jack Black and Kyle Gass) play The Wiltern in support of their new album Rize of the Feenix. The album is the band’s first since 2006. Tickets are $48.50 and available online.
