FYA at 6020 Wilshire Blvd.: The Pop-Hop Pops Up

Pop-Hop Pops Up @ ForYourArt at 6020 Wilshire Blvd.

Saturday, June 16 | 12-8pm
Sunday, June 17 | 1-7pm

Fresh off their grand opening in Highland Park, Pop-Hop Books & Print pops up for a temporary
residency at ForYourArt!

For two days Pop-Hop’s unique brand of print fetishism occupies FYA’s activity space, featuring a special
selection of books from the store, including art editions, literature, children’s books, zines, and Pop-up books, as well as a streamlined print studio, and a microcosm of the community-driven artist-run space.

All weekend, ForYourArt will be giving away Venice Beach Biennale tote bags and as a nod to Michael
Heitzer’s Levitated Mass
unveiling soon across the street, the recent pop-up art project and shop by Bettina
Hubby, The Eagle Rock Rock and Eagle Shop, will install a table of its rock-oriented wares.

Saturday | 12–8pm

Pop-up Book Workshop: 1-4pm

Join Pop-Hop and friends as they explore how to make books that pop, hop, fold, fly and twist every which
way. From your basic pop-up cards to origami animal books, mini movie flip books, gypsy wagons, exquisite corpse flap books, we will cut, fold, color and tuck paper into unique book objects. Books may be the one of the oldest forms of technology but that doesn’t mean that have to be stodgy.

Also be sure to check out Muse ArtWalk throughout the Miracle Mile all day Saturday including the FYA aMUSEment Hunt.

Sunday | 1-7pm

Live Screenprinting: 1-4pm

Robey Clark will live screenprint Pop-Hop designs on your t-shirt. Bring a shirt! Or buy one of theirs.

Reading: 4:30-7pm

Pop-Hop welcomes some amazing local writers to read from their recent work, including Dave Cull, Leah
Dietrich, Angie Lee, Shauna McKenna, her daughter Annie McKenna, Anthony Szpak and more!
