Thursday, June 21 | 6-9pm
Celebrate the launch of Liz Glynn: No Second Troy, Exhibition Catalogue at ForYourArt at 6020 Wilshire Blvd. this Thursday, June 21. Curated by Ciara Ennis at Pitzer Art Galleries, Pitzer College earlier this year, Liz Glynn: No Second Troy explored the discovery and legacy of Priam’s Treasure, otherwise known as the Gold of Troy, which was smuggled from Turkey to Berlin in the late 19th century by amateur archeologist Heinrich Schliemann. The show also explored the importation of people and goods across the same border, the resulting contemporary cultural artifacts, and the hybridized identity that ensued. Featuring images from Glynn’s videos, installations, and sculptural works, the catalogue also includes an interview between Machine Project Executive Director Mark Allen and Glynn, in addition to essays by Dean of the School of Art at Cal Arts Thomas Lawson and Director/Curator at Pitzer Art Galleries Ciara Ennis.
Special thank you to Redling Fine Art.
