Opening day of a show featuring photographs from the 1932 and 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, culled from the Photo Collection of Los Angeles Public Library. Curated by author David Davis, L.A. in Focus will feature photographs of Olympic athletes including Babe Didrikson, Carl Lewis, Joan Benoit, Michael Jordan, and Mary Lou Retton.

Craig Cowan: Divine Proportion

Opening reception for an exhibition of nude images by the late Los Angeles-based photographer Craig Cowan. Divine Proportion will focus on Cowan’s approach to the male figure and his inclusion of the ancient rules of composition known as the Golden Section or Divine Proportion. This show will include drawings, photographs and more than 30 silver and platinum/palladium prints. On view through July 14, 2012.
