As part of this year’s Art Basel Art Salon, Hans Ulrich Obrist, curator and co-director of London’s Serpentine Gallery, will host an informal discussion with the painter Sabine Moritz and publisher Walther Koenig on Saturday, June 16 at 2pm.
Obrist and Koenig’s longstanding relationship has produced important documentation of artist’s talks over the last quarter century, the German bookseller is the publisher of numerous Obrist titles including his seminal Conversation Series.
Sabine Moritz’s recently completed Jena Düsseldorf sees the artist in conversation with Obrist relaying memories of childhood in East Germany. The artist book also contains drawings evoking the history of East Germany and Germany as a whole, memorial sites sculptures in public spaces, and finally the typology of empty places.
This interview between Obrist, Koenig, and Moritz will bring an enduring and exciting art world relationship full circle. The discussion will take place at Hall 1, Auditorium.
