LACE Annual Benefit Art Auction 2012
LACE’s annual benefit auction will feature more than 100 original works by artists including Carolyn Castaño, Zoe Crosher, Brad Eberhard, Ken Gonzalez-Day, Alexandra Grant, Ed Ruscha, Christopher Russell, and Anna Sew Hoy. Art will be selected by a group of 20 curators and will be on view at LACE from May 3-15. Auction tickets are $100 – $150 and available online.

LACMA presents the Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, in conversation with Robert V. Taylor, author of the new book A New Way to Be Human. The focus of the discussion will be finding happiness and fulfillment, making the world a better place, and embracing a new, transformative way of feeling fully alive. The conversation will be moderated by Michael Govan, LACMA CEO and Wallis Annenberg Director. Tickets available by first come, first served basis.

Actor Adrian Grenier, International Center of Photography curator Carol Squiers, Us Weekly editor Carolyn Davis, and photographer Galo Ramirez will participate in a panel discussion which considers society’s conflicted feelings about paparazzi photographers and their art, the celebrities who may or may not be unwitting subjects, and our role as consumers of these images. The conversation will be moderated by Carla Hall, editorial writer, Los Angeles Times. Reservations recommended for this free event.
