Artist Talk: Natalie Bookchin

Natalie Bookchin will discuss her installation, Now he’s out in public and everyone can see, currently on view at LACE. This new work is an 18-channel video installation that weaves together found fragments from online video diaries in which vloggers recount a series of media scandals involving African American men. Bookchin will be joined by Dr. Alexandra Juhasz, Professor of Media Studies at Pitzer College.

Presented in conjunction with Moving Forward: Live After the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Fowler presents a demonstration of the Japanese art of floral arrangement by members of the Ohara School of Ikebana.

Art Talk: Jeffrey Deitch and Cai Guo-Qiang

MOCA director Jeffrey Deitch will take part in a conversation with Cai Guo-Qiang, who will discuss his use of gunpowder as a medium and his recently opened MOCA exhibition Sky Ladder.
