Sharon Lockhart: Double Tide

Screening of artist/filmmaker Sharon Lockhart’s latest film Double Tide, which unfolds on the coastal landscape of Seal Cove, Maine in two uninterrupted takes. This work captures the rare phenomenon of “double tide”—when low tide occurs twice during daylight hours, once at dawn and once at dusk. Tickets are $10 and available online.

Poetry in Wonderland: Jen Hofer and Dolores Dorantes
LACMA (Mid-Wilshire)

Jen Hofer, faculty member at CalArts and Otis College and noted poet, translator, and bookmaker will read from the work of contemporary and twentieth-century Mexican poets writing in relation to surrealist art. Hofer will be joined by Mexican poet Dolores Dorantes. The reading will take place in the galleries of In Wonderland: The Surrealist Adventures of Women Artists in Mexico and the United States. Seating is limited. Tickets are available at LACMA’s ticket office one hour before the event.
