Robert Irwin: Dotting the i’s & Crossing the t’s: Part I

With a new site-specific installation featuring the gallery windows, Irwin continues to add to his nearly 60 year-long career. The Pace Gallery has divided their most recent survey of the artist’s groundbreaking contributions to the California “Light & Space” movement into two exhibitions – the second of which will open in September.

London artist duo Gilbert & George take headlines as their inspiration, creating a new set of nearly 300 pictures from exactly 3712 newspaper posters stolen by the artists themselves, and reimagined in bold black, white, red, and the artist’s flesh.

A new exhibition of photographs based on a centerfold Cindy Sherman shot for Russian collector and arts patron Dasha Zhukova’s magazine, the chameleon-like artist poses in haute couture from the Chanel archive against exotic backdrops like the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull and the Isle of Capri.
