Opening reception for a group show featuring works by Tomma Abts, Richard Artschwager, Robert Barry, James Bishop, Daniel Buren, N. Dash, Brad Eberhard, Bart Exposito, Mary Heilmann, Mangelos, R. H. Quaytman, Analia Saban, and Robert Therrien. On view through June 9, 2012.

56th Annual Art + Architecture Tour
Various Locations

This tour will feature four Los Angeles homes notable for both their design and the various art collections they house. Docents will provide art and architecture tours of each residence. Homes are located in Trousdale Estates, Coldwater Canyon, Windsor Square, and Hancock Park. Tickets are $175 – $5,600 and available online.

East of Borneo Book Launch with Thom Andersen & Susan Morgan
For Your Art (Miracle Mile)

This event from online contemporary art magazine East of Borneo will feature a conversation between filmmaker Thom Andersen, writer/editor Susan Morgan and moderator Mark Owens. This event celebrates the launch of East of Borneo Books and the publication of its first title, Piecing Together Los Angeles: An Esther McCoy Reader, edited and introduced by Morgan.

Dirges for Dead Malls
Machine Project (Echo Park)

This performance pays tribute to the increasingly irrelevant suburban mall space in an age of Big Box stores and economic angst. Claire Cronin and Stephen Van Dyck will pay tribute to dead, abandoned malls through a performance of 80′s pop hits redone as dirges, with a corresponding sound installation.
